Supporting job readiness in a high friction environment
FlikshopME is a tablet based learning platform that helps incarcerated users prepare for reentry. For this project, I focused on two important job readiness tasks: building a resume and practicing interviews. Many users found it difficult to translate their experience into clear, professional language, which made the process feel overwhelming and hard to complete.

The biggest barrier was getting started with confidence
Users often lacked confidence in professional writing and needed more support to take the first step. The challenge was not motivation alone. It was knowing how to express their background in a way that felt polished, credible, and employer ready. This insight helped shape the product around guided support instead of open ended input.
Using AI guidance to make progress feel achievable
I designed a guided resume building experience that helped users create stronger content with less friction. AI support was used to assist with writing the About Me section, suggesting relevant skills, and offering role based guidance. I also designed interview practice flows that allowed users to rehearse in a lower pressure environment and build confidence before real conversations.

Expanding the experience through language support
To make the experience more inclusive, I also designed a Spanish version to support users who needed additional language accessibility. This helped extend the value of the product beyond core functionality and made the experience easier to understand and use for a broader set of learners.
Impact
Early testing showed that users were able to complete the two most critical tasks, resume creation and AI supported interview practice, within a structured and guided flow.
This suggested that the experience reduced friction around getting started and made job preparation feel more approachable in a high stress environment.
